It’s that time of the year again. We are getting our kids ready to return to learning. Whether that is in a private school, public school, hybrid school, homeschool co-op, or something else, we can be concerned about children in various areas. Praying your kids back to school is a commitment that Fathers and Mothers make to cover their children in prayer as they charter new waters this school year. Would you be willing to commit to bathe your children in prayer this school year?

What should I be praying for?
1. Pray for your children to make wise choices.
Mountains of choices bombard your children daily, especially at school. They choose to obey Christ or to follow the world. Pray that they would make wise decisions to please the Lord (and you). (Proverbs 3:5-6)
2. Pray for them to have Biblically minded friends.
Friends are vital in the life of children. Pray that your children would make true friends who value what you and your family do. Pray that they wouldn’t get caught up with peers who will pull them down emotionally and spiritually. (Proverbs 13:20)
3. Pray for them to bravely stand up for their faith.
When they are challenged in their faith, pray that your children would be courageous to do what is right even if it isn’t popular to do so. Pray that they would even be courageous leaders in their classrooms.
4. Pray for protection for the school against our Enemy.
Satan wants to steal, kill, and destroy. Pray that God would bind the Enemy from your children.
(Psalm 16:1)
5. Pray for their teacher to have patience, kindness, love, integrity, and respect.
Teachers have one of the biggest impacts on your children throughout the day. Pray that they would be upright leaders in your child’s life. Pray for their protection and their families. (Luke 6:40)
6. Pray for your children to recognize when they hear Truth and Lies.
Their days are filled with lots of information, coming at them from every angle. Pray that they would be thinkers to spot the Truth and lies as they encounter them. (Psalm 119:161-168)
7. Pray for them to have diligence as working for the Lord.
Your children shouldn’t aim to make only you and their teachers happy. Their goal is to do everything for the Glory of God, making Him pleased. As they work, encourage them to be diligent because they serve Jesus, not people. (Proverbs 13:4, Colossians 3:23)
