Inspiring Families to Embrace God’s Biblical Definition of Love

January 20, 2025 by thebiblicallymindedfamily 1 Comment

Love is in the air! Hearts are hung on the mantle and windows, cute decorations to remind us of Valentines Day. I love this time of the year when we focus on love — love for our families and love for our friends and churches and love for our God. It can be a beautiful thing, but I am saddened by the definitions of love that I see and hear about. Women can love women; men can love men. Love isn’t a commitment… love when you feel like it. Our world has a skewed view of what true love is like. This is why you need our printed Bible verse cards this Valentines Day!

Biblically Minded Families must teach our children the Truth from the Word of God. Helping them understand Biblical love and the commitment that comes with that is paramount for every believer. Because of this, I have created 10 simple Valentine’s postcards with Bible verses on them. They will help your whole family know the Word of God and understand the love that God has for us and the love that we need to display to others. God’s definition of love is clearly seen in Scripture, especially as seen in His depth of love in sending Jesus for us.

Valentines verse cards printed and put in a basket of green leaves

I like to print these cards four to a page and then cut them out. They are about the same size as an index card, but you can print them in different sizes according to what you would like to do with them. You may prefer to keep them as full-page posters. You can download them as a FREE PRINTABLE at the end of this blog post.

Here are four activities for the Printed Valentines Bible Verse Cards:

1. Read these cards together as a family.

Use mealtimes to read these verses together. Children can take turns reading through the verses out loud to the whole table. Hearing Scripture read is a beautiful exercise for your children. If you start on February 1, you will have read each of these verses 14 times on Valentines Day… or 28 times by the end of the month! You will be well on your way to having them memorized.

2. Commit to memorizing verses as a family.

Choose one or more of the verses to memorize together as a family in February. Set the cards on your table and use mealtimes to rehearse the verse or verses together. If you make extra copies, you can give them to your children so they can practice without you. What a treasure to have these verses hidden in their hearts to always be reminded of what true love looks like! You could even have a reward for the whole family if each person is able to memorize two of the verses!

3. Copy these printed Bible verse cards as handwriting practice in February.

As part of your homeschooling time in February, try copying these verses to practice printing or cursive. Whether you use regular lined paper or you print some special paper with hearts, children will love to write these verses instead of their normal handwriting. You could also give these completed handwriting pages to grandparents or friends for the holiday. I know our grandparents would be blessed to receive that special handwritten Valentine from their grandchildren!

4. Hang these verses in your home.

We love to put verses on our bathroom mirrors to help us read the Truth while we are brushing our teeth or doing hair. These cards could also be hung on the fridge or on the dash of your car as a reminder of God’s love for you. They make pretty decorations to hang throughout your home or classroom.

5. Give these printed Bible verse cards as your Valentines Cards.

After printing and cutting out these cute cards, have your children sign the back and write a Valentines message to their friends. Then you could attach some candy or another treat to the card. You don’t need to purchase Valentines Cards this year — use these printed Bible verse cards!

When you cover your home with the Word of God, you will never be disappointed. It will produce a solid foundation for your children and the visitors that come into your home. Valentines is a perfect time to make sure your children understand the height and depth of God’s love for them, and these printed Bible verse cards are an easy way to do just that.
